Rafiqul Islam, 34, is a civil engineer working at a construction firm in Cumilla. He's followed cricket since childhood and has always had a head for statistics. On a friend's recommendation, he opened an account on mamo baje in March 2026.
He was nervous at the start. In his first week, he began betting with just ৳500. Small stakes, but before every bet he read the pitch report, studied the wicket conditions, and analyzed both teams' last five matches. In his own words, "I never bet on gut feeling alone – I always looked for a reason."
In his first month, he placed 23 bets and won 16 of them. He invested a total of ৳8,000 and got back ৳12,400. From the second month, he increased his stake sizes but never put more than 5% of his total bankroll on a single bet. Rafiqul's Core Strategy: Before each bet, he asked himself three questions – which team does the pitch favor? What does recent form look like? Could the weather affect how the match plays out?
The IPL was running in the third month. Rafiqul noted, "The IPL has so many matches – it's tempting to bet on all of them. But I only bet on the ones where my analysis was clear." By the end of three months, his total earnings came to nearly ৳42,000.
